Delivery Time

Plain fabrics: Stock items are normally dispatched either the same day or the next working day for next-working-day delivery. While our couriers are very reliable, please keep in mind that next-day delivery cannot be guaranteed.

Patterned fabrics: Approximately 1 week from order.

Made to Measure Products: Lead time typically 7 - 15 working days + shipping (UK: Next Working day, other countries: from 3 to 8 working days). See our current lead time estimate for made to measure products.

NOTE: In such a rare case that the fabric is out of stock delivery time can be up to 9 weeks, but please check with us unless we have contacted you already.

You will be contacted if the charges are higher and you may cancel your order at this stage if you will.

Natural fibre made-to-measure bed valances are delightfully low-maintenance. Because they sit neatly against the bed base and aren't handled daily, full dry cleaning is rarely necessary—regular light care is all they need to stay fresh, crisp, and fit perfectly for years.

Routine Maintenance (All They Usually Need)

• Gentle Hoovering or Brushing: Gently vacuum the drops and corner pleats regularly using your hoover’s soft brush attachment on a low suction setting (or use a soft clothes brush) to remove settling dust.

Professional Cleaning (Stains & Deep Cleans Only)

• Dry Clean Only: If your valance suffers a spill or requires a deep refresh over time, we strictly recommend professional dry cleaning. We do not advise washing made-to-measure linen or cotton bed valances in water.

Why Water Washing Should Be Avoided

• No Water Spotting: Never attempt to spot-treat stains with water or liquid detergents at home, as this can leave permanent water rings and localized fabric distortion.
• Fading of Printed Fabrics: Water washing will cause printed or patterned fabrics to fade, as water damages and washes out delicate inks and dyes.
• Pre-Washing Isn't Shrink-Proof: While pre-washing reduces initial shrinkage, natural fibres like linen still carry minor residual shrinkage when submerged in water.
• Decking & Seam Distortion: The flat top section (decking) and the decorative side drops shrink at different rates in water. This leads to puckered seams, warped pleats, and an ill-fitting, distorted shape across your bed base.
